Seeing a door that looks like the opening to a vault I swing the mechanical marvel open and enter a city into an evening where its raining heavily. I seem to have come out of a hall and now I’m on a brick road that has lots of small walled properties at its sides. The yards are littered with sculptures and neatly trimmed shrubs.
All the houses look grand so I pick the first one that gets me out of the dripping weather.
An old lady opens the door of the first house to my left that had the lights on and she gets me inside and helps me with my coat. I’m always dressed for the part be it sandals, boots, a sweater or just some swimming shorts.
She is baffled that I knocked at her door, because – she tells me – everyone knows everyone in this place. I’ll be the talk of the town tomorrow.
Her husband enters and introduces himself as the lead physicist of the city. He offers me a chair and a cigar in front of a fire in the sitting room.
“Care to explain where you come from and what you are doing here? You must be a time traveller of some sort!” he exclaims.
“Let’s just say I’m a spiritual traveller. I have some secrets that I’m sure you will not believe.” I offer with hope in my heart.
“Do tell! We are well versed in the unknown here – ever since the technocolypse more than a hundred years ago we have been stumbling onto ever stranger occurrences. We have not seen UFO’s yet though – spaceships?” he says with candour.
“Well, I’m a dreamer of sorts. And I have yet to find a society that has spaceships, but angels I am told are a real thing. Either way – I seem to have gotten stuck in a dream world that branches into the real world, I travel through doors in my mind to real places and experience nearly what I wish at a whim. Sometimes I am surprized at what I find but generally I am never discouraged except when things get too personal.
Its been a nice road so far besides a few stressful impasses, and unless I’m stuck in a coma it seems to me I can traverse reality in a fashion that is unparalleled.” I explain.
“I’m keen to hear more about this but before you go on let me give you a short background of the star your on: We used to live quite complicated lives until the money system we had broke beneath us and sent us into a deep recession. Soon though, we found out that life was able to be lived without it. Not long thereafter the technology of ours started to boom and over some more years we started gaining confidence and solving things like poverty and crime, all the way to issues of politics and equaility.
Nowadays we have few ruling bodies and no shortage of anything anymore – we live in surplus of artwork and gardeners as you probably saw on the outside. We thought aliens were going to land some time soon but after that wave passed we started focusing on where this all would lead.
Our theologians promised a greater union with god but he has yet to show his face. The spirit is mostly a communal thing and for a short while now the movement of pan-psychism has taken over. We have studied our little place over and over and yet we still find new evidence leading toward a greater existence that we cannot grasp except through our medicines.
Before I get carried away, please do explain on how your world works.” He outlined thoroughly.
“I have this root place that bears many doorways in a spiral staircase. I think it’s a depiction of how I view the multiverse through myself. I see no end nor beginning to things so that’s why it looks like that but I do believe in waves and true love. So I am pestered by thoughts about my twin flame but I cant get near her without her vanishing, so I spend my time becoming ready to be alongside her in a joined life by expanding my spirit to encompass a more mature nature.
I don’t know how it works but I can follow my heart and a door opens somewhere in the staircase – I just have to find it.” I tell him.
“So you simply jump from place to place through that matrix setup of yours in your mind? What lead you to evolve in this way?” he asked.
“It just came about me over years of being frustrated with the question of the meaning of life. I transcended death I think, because I just wake up like from a dream whenever I die and I compare sleeping with death and time travel. I really got into lucid dreaming, which spurred on the inclination to see all of life as a dream that is in my hands.
I’ve gotten quite good at it. I’m merely dealing with emotional and existential problems now.” I admit.
“Ah yes, regardless of our outside circumstances we cannot change the way the heart feels toward eternal questions.
What you say seems quite unbelievable and I don’t think you understand it quite either. Let me say this: We have found that two bodies, no matter what distance apart can affect one another through time and space as if it weren’t there. That explains why true love is such a burden to bear at times.
Regarding your travel behaviour I can say this: We all travel in ways that we are used to. Some people need the assistance of a car to get from A to B, some walk and some take planes. These are matters of distance, yet for a long time now we have believed that the world is made up of a single energy that you can traverse in an instant if you know how to. That is why we thought spaceships were going to appear in our skies out of nowhere. Seemingly impervious to the forces of gravity and whos trajectories were only determined by the pilots imagination. Its one of unsolved mysteries you know.”
The night went on with UFO’s having quite the spotlight for a while. They offered me a room to stay in and told me I could stay in the city as long as I wished because everyone was looking for a stranger to visit.
I decided that I would have a look around in this city of surplus and I quite got used to it for a short while, always having new people to talk to – some were duller than that first couple but most people were awake and knowledgeable about spiritual occurrences or just energetic occurrences.
Before my story got out and I got too popular I panicked and startled myself back into my nest.
I nearly had to set up roof in that place. The freedom is much like my own, but its an acquired taste to live among so many people that have gotten old through their wonders of medicine.
There is something about a short lifespan that makes it so much more zesty.
