This is a very important subject for it is very well known in comparison to other spirit based topics and can be dealt with immediately, yielding a sense of pride when having accomplished clearance.

We all have a shadow and it creeps up on us during our day, always being there to trigger familiar emotions and behaviours. We struggle accessing it and resolving the problems the shadow brings forth because it is usually met with a further pushing down of it, rejection, discreditation or any other form of denial. We don’t want to look at it because its painful, so we postpone work on it for a later date.

Its wonderful however feeling as though you are achieving spiritual growth by decreasing the size of your shadow – tiny bit by bit you can release shadow energy by compassionately confronting it with understanding and honesty in mind. It often poses a daunting statement that makes you feel bad and retreat into your emotions – so openly ask the right questions at its edges, slowly sizing it down, so that you can dissolve it day by day until it yields peace and growth.

You will grow comfortable with resolving shadow energies in time and work on them whenever you feel like taking the next step. Some aspects are engrained through years of cultivation, so you might have to work on them for longer periods of time or seek professional help, but step by step you can resolve shadow energy to transform your life. The ones around you will cherish this and you will get up every morning feeling better about yourself.

It has that true sense of working on something that yields results. Since you can feel the difference by having a calmer mind and heart after releasing shadow energy you know that its working. Having spent many a dark day confronting my shadows I have felt what its like barking up the wrong tree and hitting walls that just don’t collapse. If you do it right you take down layer for layer until it transmutes into a smooth being that folds into your true self.

As you go along this path you will feel more authentic as you go along – always moving closer to the true you. Of course there are negative beliefs like: “I wont achieve this”, “this is too big” or “I’ve tried this and it doesn’t work”. The shadow is part of yourself that you have not recognized and will get bigger until you give it attention. It’s a matter of rethinking the subject in a way that has you try to solve the issue with growing perspectives. Facing it head on every time will have it deny you until you stop and take a different approach.

Its you you’re dealing with so treat it in the way that would like to be treated, compassion and honesty once again are vital in decreasing the size of your shadow and it requires soul exploration.

This means that you will grow as a person when working with your shadow, and to me there are few things that feels as great as personal development!
